The author was born in Santibáñez de Ayllón, Segovia in Spain. The family moved to Susanville, California when she was ten years old. She now makes her home in Chico, California. “Grandma’s Lost Her Head” is her second book for children. The first book, “Billy the Pig; the Stinkiest Cowboy in Town,” was published in 2008 by Stinky Press Publishing.
Currently lives abroad in Spain, has spent his life straddling an ocean between two worlds. Born in Chico, California, Durá spent his formative years in Europe as well as the United States. Durá’s illustrations are truly stage sets, substantial, dimensional, full of color, pattern and texture, the illustrations resonate, matching the narrative with humor and imagination.
